5 Things to Do and See on Spring Break
/There is plenty experience on your visit to the Gila Wilderness, and springtime is no exception! Here is a quick list of things to do and see while you stay with us at Georgetown Cabins Resort.
Take a drive along the Mimbres Valley
The Mimbres Valley is part of the Trail of the Mountain Spirits Byway loop. Hitting many key historical and activity areas like Silver City, Pinos Altos, Lake Roberts, and Mimbres, the Byway is a great activity to do during your stay.
2. Picnic at the City of Rocks
Take advantage of the cooler spring air and explore City of Rocks State Park. Located just 25 miles south of Georgetown Cabins, grab your picnic basket and make a day of climbing the rock formations and enjoy the local desert wildlife.

3. Enjoy a hike around Lake Roberts
Grab a sun hat, a walking stick, some binoculars and head to Lake Roberts. Many migrant birds return to the area in the springtime and the lake is another great hot spot to observe other local wildlife. Lake Roberts is also directly en route to the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.
4. The Gila by Horseback
Explore the sights of the Gila Wilderness by horseback! Joe at Wolf Horse Outfitters offers horseback and custom hiking adventures.
